Contracts for the construction of five dual-track rail projects worth 95.8 billion baht are expected to be signed by September, says Anon Luangboriboon, inspector-general of the Transport Ministry. As for the 196km Nakhon Pathom-Hua Hin dual-track project, bidding on the 15.8-billion-baht section will take place on Aug 10. The Map Kabao-Thanon Chira Junction rail project will be divided into three parts -- Map Kabao-Klong Khanan Jit (7.7 billion baht), Klong Khanan Jit-Thanon Chira Junction (7 billion baht) and the tunnel (9.3 billion baht). Bidding on the first two contracts will be held on Sept 1 and on the third on Sept 7. The final project involves the 84km Hua Hin-Prachuap Khiri Khan track, worth 7.3 billion baht.
